Timothy E. Wise was born and reared in Texas and is a senior lecturer in musicology at the University of Salford, England. A member of the International Association for the Study of Popular Music, he has published work in Radical Musicology, American Music, the Musical Quarterly, Popular Music, and the Journal of American Folklore.
