Robert Singer is retired professor of liberal studies at CUNY Graduate Center. His areas of expertise include literary and film interrelations, interdisciplinary research in film history and aesthetics, and comparative studies. He is coeditor (with Gary D. Rhodes and Frances Smith) of ReFocus: The American Directors Series and (with Gary D. Rhodes and Stefanie Van de Peer) of ReFocus: The International Directors Series for Edinburgh University Press.
