As you work to prepare your final manuscript, please follow the Guidelines for Conversations Volumes. If the manuscript is not prepared as requested, it will be returned to you for the necessary work to be done. This could affect the publication schedule for your project.
Along with the manuscript, you will need to submit an Editorial Questionnaire, a Permissions Grid, copies of the permissions agreements, and the checklist suitable to your project:
- Checklist for Conversations with Comic Artists
- Checklist for Conversations with Filmmakers
- Checklist for Literary Conversations
If the interviews include song lyrics, poetry, or other copyrighted material, you will need to clear the right to reprint those in addition to clearing the rights to use that interview. Please check with your editor or editorial assistant before pursuing permissions.
A sample permission request letter can be found here. Check with your editor or editorial assistant before finalizing any permissions that incur a fee.
